The Galvins are here!!

The Galvins finally arrived late Tuesday night.... all McCurdy kids were sleeping!! We started Thursday off with a pre-breakfast swim. I am sure the neighbors were not too please with the sounds of 7 children who had not seen each other in a month frolicking in the pool at 7:30am


Our 1st excursion was to Sea World. It was fun. Rode the Atlantis, saw a couple shows, fed some Sting Rays and had a ball!

We ended our day with a sunset trip to La Jolla Cove. It was pretty overcast so no real sunset but we saw the famous California Sea Lions and climbed some trees!

4th of July Fun!!

Another great 4th of July at Fairbanks!! Dinner, games, dancing and of course, a great fireworks show!!

Another day at the beach!

My friend Annie, a roomie from college, and her kids come down to San Diego for a few days and a trip to Legoland. We were able to spend some time with them and had a blast. It was a lot of fun to see our kids playing together!

Fishing at La Jolla Cove...

Well, not fishing, fishing! We went snorkleing and saw so many fish. The were planty of giant orange fish that were really easy to spot and many that were a bit more hidden. The water was COLD! 68 degrees! I made it about 20 min, but the kids were much tougher. They stayed in for over an hour!

Emma is still riding. Yasmin met the girls and I at the barn and Emma got to ride Claire. Maggie was too small but she helped groom her and was able to sit on her. Then we watched Yasmin ride Claire. Claire is recovering from an injury and still can't jump but then cantered for us!

Wakeboard Camp

Finn had a great week at wakeboard camp. He had a blast. We all went down to the bay to watch him on Thursday but we did not see him for long. He blew by us in a blur, holding on with one hand to wave! We're hoping Pops' pontoon boat is powerful enough to pull him.

MORE FUN!

Sunday, we celebrated Grammy's Birthday ALL DAY! We started with an 8am pajama swim! We had lunch at Rubio's, then Uncle Brain and Yasmin came over for a swim and dinner!







Today we went on a hike at Torrey Pines State Park. It is one of our favorite spots! We took our friend Scott. After hiking down to the beach, the kids got their feet wet.... and then themselves wet! They did not wear their bathing suits but that did not stop them!!

Universal Studios Hollywood!!

Grammy and I took the 4 kids to Universal Studios for a couple days of fun! Owen started off the adventure with a lead role in a robot horror film! He did a great job frightening the starlet!

The water park was key! It was steamy in Hollywood! There were great shows that taught us all about the special effects they use in the movies. Finn and Maggie impressed us all walking through the House of Horrors that was not recommended for those under 13! It was pretty spooky! Imagine a haunted house brought to you by the guys who created Frankenstein, Psycho and Chuckie! I won't be rushing back in there!!! Beach Bums!

We had a great time at the beach today. It was overcast so I thought we'd build a few sand castles, play on the playground and then head home... WRONG! I could not get Emma, Finn and Maggie out of the ocean! They had a blast. Owen was good staying pretty close to shore and outrunning the waves!

Horsin' Around!

Emma had a horseback riding lesson today. She had not taken one in 2 years! And this new barn teaches English riding, her old barn was Western. She did not miss a beat. When we first arrived we fed a few carrots to Yasmin's horse Claire.

Emma rode a spotted horse named "Precious". She had to go get her, comb and brush her, pick her hooves and saddle her up. She had a great lesson. Her coach Andrea was very impressed. We fed a few carrots to Precious after we put her up and then found Yasmin's other horse Jina. We had one big carrot left for her!

San Diego Fun Begins!

83% of the McCurdys arrived safe and sound in San Diego yesterday. After a quick snack, the kids jumped in the pool.... for 3 hours!! We were able to keep everyone awake until 8:30 (11:30 our time!) and everyone slept until 6am! I think that is a McCurdy family 1st morning record. We are usually up around 4:30!!

Today we went to Sea World.... nothing like hitting the ground running! I took the kids early and we stayed until 1p. We don't want to burn out, we'll be back at least 6 times! Spent the afternoon in the pool.... again!

Summer 2008

We started our summer fun at home this year. Dad took a few days off work and we had a blast. We visited the fountain at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens and the fountain at Centennial Olympic park on the same day! Wednesday we hit Stone Mountain for a hot and steamy day. Today, Emma, Finn and Maggie did a triathlon in Peachtree City. They were awesome!!!

Fun with Uncle PG!

We took Uncle PG on a hike at Torrey Pines State Park. We strolled 1.2 miles down to the beach... and then had to hike back up! It was a beautiful day. There were some men fishing down at the beach and one of them caught a baby shark. He threw it back in!

We went to the Zoo late in the afternoon. We took the bus tour and saw the special night show. Finn was handpicked out of the audience to help the clown warm up the crowd. He had to do all the dances that she did. He was awesome! He was picked for the same thing 2 years ago. It is now his goal to be picked every year!
